Expeditions

As a semi-mobile educational program, we challenge our students with new settings as research has found that this affects children differently. Many children who are confident in an indoor setting take time to gain confidence in an outdoor setting, and those who struggle indoors enjoy the space and different learning styles of different outdoor settings.

Exposure to the natural world stimulates curiosity and fosters a sense of wonder. Airie O.W.L. and E.C.O. students enjoy expeditions to local parks, woods, creeks, and farms to provide opportunities for children to observe and interact with various plants, animals, and ecosystems, promoting a deeper understanding of the environment.
